Off topic, run away, run away... Lenapej, thanks for the link to the Nathan Jeffery videos. He is a new one to me. I've been looking at some of his others, and I like his approach. He tries things he has read about in the old literature, and describes them well. His videos on insulating moccasins with cattail fluff and of trying various materials to make char for fire starting are educational and interesting to watch. Spence No problem, he started his channel not so long ago and has come a long way in a short time.

I wish he would give his channel a unique name, a search of YouTube for Nathan Jeffery brings up a real toxic stew of others by that name.
The latest video of his I watched was well done. He read that Rogers Rangers ice skated to reconnoiter a French fort, so he made some F&I era ice skates and demonstrated them. Videos of reenactors trying out things described in primary literature are hard to come by, and I appreciate his efforts.
