Cleator's waterproofing mix is an interesting one, but I have no confidence it would work well with moccasins. A big reason for it's success, I expect, is what Cleator started with, a pair of boots sewn together tightly and made of well seasoned leather. That doesn't sound like my moccasins. Spence

Wet, cold feet add to the overall experience. If I wanted dry feet, I'd wear Goretex socks...alas, wool and/or cotton socks must suffice. In winter or wet weather, I carry a second pair of wool-lined centerseams worn only at night. The damp blanket liners from day moccasins go in/under the blankets to dry. The leather shell may end up under the blankets.

Learned a big heap of stuff right here. Thank you guys.
I made my wife a pair of center seam moccasins a little larger intending to make a wall insert like a shoe pack.
Do you guys just make a wolf version of the moccasin using the pattern and just slip one on over the other? Do you ever saw them together?

I'm not sure what you are asking, Armando, but here's what I do for cold weather, times two. I made a pair of moose hide moccasins and some blanket liners for them. The mocs have two soles, the liners have three. When I wear them the tops of both are wrapped around my lower leg and tied with thongs. I also made a pair of center seam mocs from a thrift store coat with a sheepskin collar, and I wear them over a pair of center seam elk summer moccasins, again with the flaps wrapped around my lower leg and tied there. Both systems keep me nice and warm in some pretty chilly weather, especially if I can keep my feet dry. Spence

I've made wool liners in the same pattern as the leather moccasin. However, I don't invert the liner, rather leave the seam to the outside. No - don't sew the liner to the leather outer. The parts dry better & faster when separated.
