FYI - soaking orange/yellow commercial-tan leather in a solution of household bleach & water will remove much of the color (rinse well with water when bleached enough). This does not affect the strength - My first set of winter moccasins were made from bleached leather that was once a war-shirt (got it as part of the trade) and have been used hard over the last 15 or so years. Once bleached, the leather had gone from a deep orange color to an acceptable light buckskin tan.
