You would truly be the envy of the forum. Been wanting to do the same for years. It truly would be an amazing opportunity to have everyone together for a mass outing. The ability to pass experience, knowledge and just watch, listen and learn would be invaluable and something I'd personally cherish. However, I'm thinking we all need to go to Australia, or raise funds for Keith to fly over here. Not to stray off topic, if this is something of an interest to the community maybe we can start a separate discussion for this to potentially become a reality. We have some well experienced gents who, believe I can say are more than willing to share their knowledge with us all. I for one am very grateful for that. Again, I've been thinking the same thing for a long time. Thinking it would be easier to fly (one or two?) people here, Keith, (and maybe his wife?), than to get all of the rest of our motley crew through airports and into foreign countries with all our gear and firelocks.

Very much agree. We shall potentially post a separate discussion on this, PM me with your thoughts.

Very much agree. We shall potentially post a separate discussion on this, PM me with your thoughts. An option would be Skype - people could conference in and we would be able to have a realtime conversation with video.

Hawk, Skype is an internet based messaging, calling and video calling program. One registers an account using an email and you can communicate for free with other users wherever they are on the planet. Free to download to phone and computer.
The other service is Whatsapp, but this requires a cell number and sharing that number with everyone with whom you want to communicate. This is less convenient for some - I use this app to communicate with international family.

Not quite as cool as visiting Keith Down Under, but a viable option in today's super connected world...

Recently opened a WhatsApp account to continue communicating with a friend moving to Poland. It does not seem all that reliable, and, to make and receive phone calls with it, you need to give it permission to record phone calls, NOT HAPPENING. I think in this case we can forgo hc/pc and let those who will join us travel by aeroplanes instead of tallship. Tallship would be cooler and far more interesting but the time involved might be prohibitive.

Curious - I don't remember anything like that and other than an occasional issue with my WiFi signal, I've not had problems with reliability. That said, I think Skype would be a better choice for this...no cell number required, just an email address.
