Awesome! I've wanted to do a trekk here now but its been non-stop thunderstorms for weeks.
Love the knife sheath: how did you make the pattern for a center seam like that and still have the fold-back throat like that?
Question about your belt loops on that cool belt pouch: when I do belt loops like those, the bag hangs and tilts away from my body too far. Don't know if my leather hide was too soft/light or if I made my loop too wide. Any suggestions?

Nicely done! You gotta rub some dirt, grease and blood on those as quickly as you can - the shine is hurting my eyes....

I’m desperate for the morale boost after every damn event in the surrounding area and even some far reaching ones being shut down!! To answer your question about the sheath, Nock sent the exact link I would’ve posted. If you haven’t seen that YT channel yet, he’s a wealth of knowledge. Unfortunately, he no longer posts. It’s explained in his video how that’s done and it’s really less complicated than it looks. Here’s another YT channel that has great 18C content but this guy also stopped posting!! His sheath making videos are for a slightly more complicated version of the same style sheath : www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL440846DAAA061F61 In regards to the belt loops, I try to keep them tight enough to the pouch body to avoid floppiness but this pouch is replacing a smaller one that just held my flint and steel tin. I made the whole thing out of deer skin and the belt loop stretched real bad and caused the problem you mentioned Another aspect you may consider is several belt loops rather than only one large one

Don't know if my leather hide was too soft/light or if I made my loop too wide. Any suggestions? Center seams can essentially be done the exact same way you would create a normal side seam sheath. Only difference will be forming the sheath wet and allowing it to dry. Very easy process, and I will coat mine with beeswax to one, seal the leather and two to hold the shape and stiffen the piece. Good work, Sicilian. I notice some imperfections on the sheath which I'm guessing is from clamping. You can easily remove them with steam from an iron. It will soften the leather obviously but placing a weighted object over a towel will fix you up until it drys. Go dirty them pieces up by rolling in the mud! Worth mentioning and it's an important detail often times missed... In the image you'll see the scales formed to the sheath. Once waxed this acts as a stop which Sicilian did as well on his sheath. Once hardened with beeswax this will prevent your blade from pushing through the sheath. Now that is within reason... Take a hard fall or what have you nothing will prevent a razor sharp blade from piercing through. None the less this is important to do. Also you can burnish the center seam with an antler tine or bone which will smooth and press everything down while the sheath is still wet.

I have yet to try that myself Using Fiebing's eyes, I often add a little burgundy or russet to the medium brown. I'm thinking of trying the burgundy dye, with a little bit of black shoe polish over it.

I dyed the pouch and left it to dry while I waxed the sheath at Hawk’s suggestion after some light decoration I scratched into the leather before waxing and heating in the oven. upload img

Dyed, greased and added a pewter button. Some flaws and lessons learned.
