This just arrived today. I think it is going to go a long way toward helping me decipher the byzantine world of period fabrics and terminology.

Looks good. Before I go searching Amazon and Google, where did you find it, and more importantly, is this another one of those books related to our endeavors that carries a sticker shock that can make one question theor dedication to these pursuits?

I got it used on Amazon after learning of it in a review of Florence Montgomery's textile dictionary. It cost me like $6. The only drawback (if such can be said) is that it is not exclusively focused on our period.

Thank you. Not veing completely focused on our period isn't a horrible thing. I find things you confuse me from any time period. Especially the current one.

Does it tell us what a ānaugaā or āmoā is? Couple centuryās later than our period, but we need to check the completeness of the work and see if they have good descriptions of Naugahyde and Mohair. Seriouslyā¦ I love that books like this exist.

The riggers covered EVERYTHING in "naugahide" from ready room chairs to tablecloths to intake covers...

Thanks PAranger, that is very interesting info. I am hoping the book has a glossary and/or some discussion of what the various weaves and equipment are.
