Thanks! Appreciate the encouragement. Here’s a quick test to see how paint will do as a decorative medium. I want to see how it adheres and is affected by the beeswax process. I’m pretty sure I am staying with a simple engraved design on this build, but wanted to get some data for future consideration. This is only a test. 😜

I think the Black Hand may be the only one here that’s done this… but I’m thinking the wax impregnating is going to really darken the leather. The walnut dye may be an unnecessary step….

Need to find something to punch out the strap holes… but one side is decorated. A turkey on the reverse, methinks…

Wax then use a drill for the strap location and trim the hole to shape with a sharp/pointy blade.
