This subject comes up frequently on other forums. I've responded to not before, as have most of us. Figured I'd post my latest experience though. Centermark Fusil des Chase that has been loaded with 75 grains Goex, dry felt wad, lubed ball of faux-tow, .610 ball, and two overshot cards, since November 6th. I did not get out as much as I hopes, really just a few short walks and one short sit. Many of which were at least damp, and at least one it was raining lightly (i took my usual foul weather precautions). Gun was mostly left in my truck, touch hole plugged, greased ball of flannel stuffed in the muzzle. Temps ranged from 10s/20s to mid 40s. Some of the past week the gun was in my basement. I took her out to shoot that load today, again damp and misty.... Pan and frizzen were wiped with an alcohol swab before prime was placed in the pan, shot was taken from 33 paces and sitting on a chunk of firewood. No appreciable delay in ignition.

Can't trust'em......to behave like some people describe them (unreliable). If my flint gun doesn't go off, I'VE done something wrong.

Video wouldn't even prove you didn't take the necessary three fowling shots and a swab that we all know is necessary for accurate fire.
