Has anyone got any images of original late 17th century to mid 18th century English knife sheaths? Keith.

While this is not exactly what you asked for, I think you might still find it useful. This book is a compilation and analysis of 12th-15th c. English knives and scabbards recovered in London. I found it to be a valuable resource for insight into the development and evolution of the English cutlery trade guilds, including detailed analysis of materials and construction. The bottom line is that the methods, forms, and materials in use by the English cutler's guilds (of which "sheathers" were a distinct trade) didn’t change much (if at all) between the 15th and 18th c. free hosting registration
