This is one of the best videos and still one of my favorites. I've watched this gem numerous times over the years and it never gets old!

The first time I visited Colonial Williamsburg in 1974, this video was part of the initial introduction there. I was in awe at the time, especially as I was going through National Match Gunsmith training at the time. The video remains a classic. Thanks for sharing.

Many years later but I love this video. I've shared it with several people over the years and all have thoroughly enjoyed it.

What I really like about this video is that it demonstrates the old blacksmith's adage of "10 minutes of good forging technique will save you an hour of hand filing." That and also that a person who really knows how to use hand files can make truly fine work.

Certainly good forging technique and hammer control go a VERY long way in final finish work. It is rather comical the amount of people who believe fine work can't be had under the hammer. I'm personally very judicious with that aspect of forging as it's something I've learned the hard way. Also an exceptional point on filing as well, very underrated subject with a monumental impact in the end.
