So… the Ranger and I had a trek from the Susquehanna frontier to Fort Ticonderoga just before Thanksgiving. Among other things, I had the opportunity to handle some of his axes, tomahawks and knives. I’ll say this:
It’s like holding an original. The forging, proportions, hafts and handles… all exacting. JJ’s study of originals… both photographs and actual relics… make for very authentic work.
His trade knives are FAR superior to what Fort Ti is using. (They have trade knives laying around in the staff kitchen to slice tomatoes. Ha.)
I’ve encouraged him to get a stamp so to mark his work… because it’s only a mater of time until some shifty collector tries to pass one off as an original. I’m dead serious.
I mean… LOOK at these!!

Thanks, gents.
You're too kind, Ryan, but it means a lot - many thanks.

I know it seems like cheating or bragging to mark one's work sometimes. That said, take credit for your accomplishments, even if it is in some small way. Maybe we can have a design contest for JJ's touchmark...

Very nice! Your work is beautiful as always! Your forge work is like my horn work. Good research and attention to details are critical.
