Yesterday was a horribly windy and rainy day, which gave me the perfect opportunity for completing the forged chandelier chain along with getting it in place within my little area. Must say I'm very impressed with how it looks and the feel it gives my small little nook.

That looks great hanging there. I just received a tin tinderbox candle holder like yours, can't wait to use it. Also got a tin candle storage box with holder on top and a Bristol Bun. Need more beeswax candles though, only have one new one left. The Bristol Bun holders are much smaller diameter than my candles, even the paraffin ones, and the tin holders are slightly larger than what seems standard. Can your friends make custom diameter molds?

Can your friends make custom diameter molds? They very well could, I don't do Facebook but you can find their email there. Brubaker metalcrafts. They supply Townsend with their tin work. What I've done with oversized tin holders is de-solder then cut the holder down to size and then re-solder.

Thanks. I don't do Facebook either. I may try dipping again and see what I come up with when I have time. Until then I'll check some farmers markets and such for some beeswax candles, maybe Olde Sturbridge Village will have some for sale.

A mold for a 6" column candle would be a find...

I see a BIG problem - you just don't have enough stuff... When I go to an event, especially where I will be displaying, the living room looks terribly empty once I've packed the truck.

I've downsized tremendously... I'm to the point in my journey that every piece of gear or accoutrement I have can be documented. Had allot of junk I accumulated over many years that got donated, sold or tossed. Just couldn't validate the authenticity of such items. What you didn't see though was the rack with hides, textiles, and other miscellaneous materials for projects. My "studio" were my inner Bob Ross comes out is off to the right. I'm a big fan of Saint Ross and his technique of oil painting. Back on track... I also keep the easy project materials inside within reach on the same rack. Obviously blacksmithing, carpentry, horn crafting and gun making supplies/ tools are in the outside shop. This little area is essentially my storage and thought processing space were I write and drink tea/ coffee along with reading.

That's a very nice chandelier, it will do you proud. Have you molded candles before? Spence Spence, GREAT illustration on tying the wicks through the molds and around the sticks. Thank you. I've had a repro candle mold for years, but never used it because I did not know what the best material was for the wicks. Do you (or anyone else) know? Gus

I've braided wick material from cotton twine and suspect other natural fibers would work. Modern wicks are treated to help them burn evenly, so I'd suggest ordering a spool of wicking from Amazon. Not very expensive and easy to use.

Thank you Blackhand,
I've got a good size quantity of unprocessed beeswax, so the information is really appreciated.
