I have been fascinated recently by the (few) surviving native effigy carved trade knives. Here is a curious pig effigy carved into the fruit wood handle of a French bucheron attributed to the Iroquois. And here is my attempt to replicate it on a bloodwood handled 6" English trade knife. I think this little 🐖 will stay home as part of the kit for my Cherokee impression.

Very nice, I need to give a few effigy handles a go. Have always wanted to fashion the blade Magua carries on LOTM. Have seen a few examples which have been excellent.
