Yesterday,,,,, Thanksgiving,,,,
Our annual Thanksgiving bird hunt and holiday toast with good family friend Jerry, my brother, and my dad, got canceled because it was pouring rain. So I showered quickly and grabbed the smoothrifle to go check my game camera and sit my blowdown blind near that tree stand. I knew it was later than I should be heading in, but this time of year, and in the rain, one never knows....
And I really wanted to check that camera not having been there in a while.... Being in a rush, I dressed modern, but, with the rain, brought the new orange matchcoat,,,,, what a great item,, My leg and anything not under the matchcoat got soaked. But, it did a great job of keeping my torso, bag & horn, kit bag, and lock dry. It was almost too warm...
The above is copied and pasted from a text conversation with 2 forum members yesterday so please forgive the oddities, punctuation and all that.
Temps were in the upper 40s low 50s but windy and rainy. Combined with and underarmor undershirt and fleece sweatshirt, I was actually too warm, especially when moving.
I'll try to add some pictures later.

Can you share a picture of your match coat? What type of blanket were you using?

Armando, here's a short video of a matchcoat from Steve Davis of Stillwater Woodcraft. He makes it pretty clear. BTW, a lot of his videos are quite educational. www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXD9Xq22064Spence

Can you share a picture of your match coat? What type of blanket were you using? Technically I wasn't using a "blanket" but a few yards of hunter orange wool fabric. I had fulled the fabric when I received it, cut it to a manageable length, and then I bound the cut ends, leaving the selvedge edges alone, with brown wool "tape." The last is not truly necessary, but, provides two advantages. 1st it protects the cut ends which are not as tough as the selvedge. Second, I am often getting ready at my truck I'm the dark. Having these shorter edges bound makes it easy to orient which edge is longer. I will post pics when I can sit at my laptop. There are a few on "that other forum."

Sorry for the delay. I'm not going to write much here, just post a bunch of pics I took while out that day.
taken while sewing the edge binding on.
Be warned, some ugliness follows,
Taken that 1st time out with it. In the pouring rain Thanksgiving morning. cow's knee taken same day
The next day, in full dress
A few just for fun,

Very photogenic you are, lol. How do you guys take pictures of yourself, serious question, another camera or something?
I do like what you've done with that hunter orange setup, while not HC which we know it's intended purpose for legality serves well.

I do like what you've done with that hunter orange setup, while not HC which we know it's intended purpose for legality serves well. Timer on the cell phone camera set to 10 seconds, which is the max on mine. And set to take 3 pics every activation of the shutter. I use it set for a selfie so I can see what the camera is seeing from a few feet away. Mostly I just find s convenient place to lean or wedge the phone, but also make use of a small gorilla-pod, there are many cheap imitations of these, buyer beware. I recently picked up a small bluetooth camera activator, like the remote door unlocked for a vehicle, go $10, haven't tried it for real yet. A match coat certainly is hc/pc, only the color is not.
