It's hard not to like Buxton and Griffing's work, not only because of the subject matter, but the choice of some locations depicted that are literally in my neck of the woods. Both of them are popular and some of the almost life-sized original paintings used for print productions are amazing to look at up close, the originals are way out of my price range.
A close friend of mine is a commercial/graphic artist, knows both of them very well and for almost 50 years. Buxton is very outgoing, while Griffing is a bit more reserved. Griffings' wife died a couple of years ago and he was depressed over it and had thoughts of quitting. My friend tells me he's starting to bounce back, and a month ago the three of them held a panel discussion on western Pennsylvania art.

Hmm...looking at the bearded fellow I wonder if that's Keith or a relative of his a few years back?
