I know I'm getting into minutae here but do any of you guys know a source for small (small enough for haversack) bottles for carrying my bear oil and what not for cleaning/maintaining my musket? I have some I've picked up at the Dollar General (made in Cathay) but was needing it to be hand-blown.
Or are there alternatives for containers for such things?

IIRC, Townsend's carries some small pinch bottles.
Arguably, a glass bottle might have been considered too valuable to stick in someone's gun bag (?).

You are probably going to have to contact someone who blows glass and have one made. Glass blowing seems to be making a "cult" comeback in the hobby and art world, so a google search and maybe a search on Instagram should find you someone.

Very helpful - the scale is now apparent.
