Hey, gang. If anyone is going through gear and has some things they’re considering parting ways with, I may be your man Interested in: Shirts - white or natural linen. I’m a 46” chest so L or XL depending. No need for hand sewn buttonholes, etc. I’ll do that myself. Old Shoes - I like rehabbing old boots and have re-soled ACW bootees. I’m an 8 or 9. I can give measurements. Overshirt/Work Smock - knee-length pullover in linen. Not a ‘hunting frock’ or ‘rifleman coat’. More ‘laborer’ or ‘wagoner’ smock. Breeches - linen or wool if they’re 100% wool. 36”-38” waist depending if I’m wearing my beach bod or my dad bod. Hats - Black wool or fur felt. I’m 23-1/2”. I’ve worked with felt before and have had good luck spiffing up hats… as long as they’re all there. And you know… an English import smoothbore of better quality. Also interested in any remanent fabrics to try my hand at some small projects before spending big bucks on yards of linen and wool. If there’s enough to do a pair of leggings or a market wallet, great. Smaller pieces I can make poke bags, etc. Let me know, fellas.

I'd suggest an inexpensive off-white surplus wool blanket for leggings. Wash & dry on hot before proceeding. The wool can be dyed with Rit dye - I've done blue and green with success.

Thanks, Hand. That’s likely what I’ll do. Just throwing ideas about. Appreciate the reminder to wash and dry and that things can be dyed!

The mittens and leggings were made from a brown surplus blanket with red stripes. You can almost see the more purple band at the bottom of the leggings when up close.

I’ll need to search out a few old surplus blankets. Or hit the thrift stores. The last surplus I had 20 years ago said ‘wool’, but I’m quite sure it was yak. The mittens and leggings look great!

Just wear a clout like us forest dwelling savages...
I may have a shirt that you may be interested in. A native brother of mine gave me the shirt, to big for me. It's a calico print, if your interested I'll get you images.
Worth noting, it's all raw edges with no hem I believe.

Thanks, Hawkeyes. Not what I’m looking for just now. I did do quite a bit of the breechclout and moccasins life when I was in my teens and early twenties with a service fraternity inside the Boy Scouts. I find the dress completely comfortable woods wear. I’ll likely do a white colonist in Indian dress at some point. There are a number of local accounts here regarding the pursuit to recover natives where the men attired themselves as natives. I’m just not ready for that yet. Thanks for the offer, pal.
