It was my great good fortune to get to know Paul Blakeman not long after I began shooting black powder. Paul was an expert in black powder shotguns, and over several years he tutored me in their history and use. He was very good at getting old well used guns back in shooting condition. In about 1982-83 I bought a reconditioned English Parker double percussion 13-gauge shotgun from him which has been a pure pleasure to own and use. It fits me perfectly, is light and handy in the hand, and I wouldn’t know what more to ask of a rabbit gun. The shotgun, the James Dixon and Sons brass powder flask and the leather American Flask and Cap Company shot flask were all from mid-19th century, The rabbit is circa 2013. Spence

Spence, that looks to be a wonderful bunny gun. It really is a delight to swing a well fitting and balanced shotgun. I’m partial to early Liege-made Superposeds… and a particular 20ga (that my brother WILL NOT give up!) is just the most natural pointing gun I’ve shouldered. Eventually I’ll tiptoe into muzzleloading double guns. Your Parker and period accoutrements are fantastic. Thanks for sharing them.
