These are both nice paintings by a talented contemporary artist. Do we know what he used for research subjects, or anything about the veracity of his research to get things correct?

This looks like a wonderful place to spend an afternoon. I’d love to know about the research and any other information. A lot of little details hiding in this work.

I understand that painter Don Troiani is known for the research he puts into his historical subjects. When I see similar art that I really like I often wonder if the same effort has been put into it.
