Just a follow up to my other post: My sons gave me a Richland arms flintlock pistol kit for Father’s Day. It looks to me like it needs very little work other than some sanding and staining as the whole kits fits together nicely. Granted, this is my first build ever so there's probably things I have to do but don't know how. I've watched the recommended videos from Duelist1954 but it doesn't look like my kit ever requires all the work he does on his (though again, I could be wrong). In particular I can’t figure out how this trigger guard can be made to fit. Does it need more inletting on the back (near the grip) so it will seat lower? Here’s a video I made to show how the trigger guard doesn't quite line up. Flintlock Trigger Guard

Hi Armando,
It looks to me like the front of the trigger bow has a threaded hole in it for a bolt to come down through the trigger plate and hold it in place. Is that the way it is? I can't see the bottom rear of the trigger plate, so I'm not sure if there is another hole back there to attach the rear of the trigger plate?
Personally, the first thing I would do is tighten the threaded bolt down through the front hole of the trigger plate and into the hole in the front of the trigger bow. Then put the trigger plate and trigger guard together as a unit in the stock inlet, to see if you need to lower the inlet for the rear of the trigger guard and thus the rear of the bow will clear the trigger.
