Dated and Undated 18th century Powder Horns from the Met

I was looking for more information on 18th century strap and waist belt buckles, particularly any made from Iron or Steel, but also any made from brass that I've not run across before.  Well, believe it or not, one French buckle made from brass came up in the Armor and Arms section from the Met.  So, I went there and found all these powder horns listed and thought others might enjoy seeing them.  

Of course I didn't think I would be the first to stumble across these horns, but I would have given credit had I gotten the information from another forum.  Actually, it was a good thing someone else posted the information on another forum that you have seen.  Better for all if more than one person finds and shares them.

I have no idea how that got into the Arms and Armor section at the Met.  

Funny how I often stumble across something else when looking for other things.  Grin.

I think that was the post I was referring to. I think I posted Herr about it send mentioned a specific horn or two.
