Now that you mention the original method of strap attachment, pre-screw, I remember seeing the original posted on the ALR forum. You did a good job on this one. Did you make the screw?

Thank you my friend. I'm pleased with the end result but there are a few things I'd do differently next time. One being a slight dome-shaped plug. The original does have a very slight dome, slight but it is there. Second is hand make the screw. This one was in my bag of spare firelock screws and bolts. Overall though it's a dandy horn and I'd have no doubt it would serve someone well. I'm to the point were I'm comfortable planning to sell horns. While I haven't mastered my turning game for more elaborate powder horn work that skill will develop fast I have no doubts.
