The very nice flat horn which Hawkeyes posted about reminded me of a flat horn I have. Many years ago I had an old friend and mentor who made horns, and I wound up with a couple of them, one a bison powder horn and the other this flat utility horn. Paul's work would never measure up to that of the many talented craftsmen in the hobby today, but it was always special to me because it was Paul's. I only ever used this horn to hold shot when out on a dove hunt, for instance, when I might need more than I usually carry for squirrels or rabbits. I carried it in a pocket, and at 9" around the curve and 1" thick it held enough for a long heavy shoot. Spence

I like the stylized thistle on the stopper.

Very nice! That is the style I'll be trying to nail. Certain forms are used which I don't have made yet, which is why my first is how it is.
Very nice indeed, love the plug and stopper.
