Beautiful work mate, I think a F&I war era horn would sit nicely on my side between the boucheron and Fusil!

Beautiful, I love it. I used to be a hornsmith & made many powder horns & other horn work, all by hand & polished using wood ashes on sheep's fleece as original. I finally packed it in when I could not compete with other modern hornsmiths using power tools. Keith.

Even being a modern lathe principal obviously is the same as a tredle or pole lathe using cup chucks and spindles for applied band and collars. My mentor is bringing life back to an original tredle lathe. When that is finished I'll certainly be making one. Other than my lathe, not a single modern power tool touches my work. Amazing what the old boys could do with a foot powered lathe and a few cutting tools.
