If you're like me, you've got the earbuds in or radio on while you're working on the next gun, driving to the next show or reenactment, or simply working outside. Podcasts are a great way to take a break from music while still learning something. 2 Complicated 4 History is a new one I've found that'll definitely be one to check out. Their lineup of academics, historian, and experts dissect those complicated narratives of early American history that people don't usually talk about. linktr.ee/2c4h_podcastThey're up on Spotify and all over social media.

Thanksp. I'll check it out and maybe add it to my list of podcasts that I cycle through each week. Since Colmoultrie was introduced me to the Dispatches podcast when he was on it, I've stopped listening to anything other than podcast shows in the truck. I cycle through about 6 or 7 throughout the week.
Anyone have any other good history podcast recommendations?

So 2C4H is on Audacy and if you listen to it through the app, they'll recommend similar shows like Pandora or any other algo driven platform. They've got all the top podcasts. Definitely a superior platform for them to be on. Ben Franklin's World is the only other history podcast I've heard. It's pretty popular. At the end of the day I'm usually ready for something other than history, so I actually listen to other stuff.

If you have any interest in MACV-SOG and special ops in Southeast Asia, I highly recommend SOGCast with John Stryker Meyer.

When there is a new one it is the 1st one I listen to. As well as some of his interviews on other podcasts such as the ones with Jocko. Essentially for me in rough general order it's, Unashamed (this is at the top partly because when there aren't new episodes of the others I'm listening to multiple episodes in a row trying to catch up) Sogcast Cleared Hot and The Sean Ryan Show (tied) Mike Drop No Fear with Tony Blauer Jocko Podcast Dispatches Mike Force (older episodes are better) I'd like to find a good one about the Rhodesian Bush Wars. There are others I'll tune in to depending on the guest.

Both, lol.
Nah, it's a good thing. No more news or news discussion in the truck, has me a little less angry all the time.
I stopped listening to music in the truck a long time ago. After spending 8 to 12 hours listening to cardiac and respirator alarms,,, music on the ride home became annoying. Unfortunately, not working evening shift anymore, I also don't get to listen to Coast to Coast AM anymore either.

Some of my favorite podcasts that you have not mentioned: David Blight - The Civil War and Reconstruction, Yale Open Courses (okay, technically not a podcast, but the course lectures - one of the BEST I have ever listened to; highly addictive) Dan Carlin - Hardcore History ( one of the best long-form storytellers I’ve encountered) Gilder Lehrman- Famous Americans ( biographies of Franklin, Burr, John Brown, Harriet Tubman, and Rockefeller by historians like Gordon Wood and Ron Chernow) We’re Alive - a Zombie Radio play; foul language and violent, but engrossing History of Rome -Mike Duncan - 180+ half hour episodes on Rome from Aeneas to Romulus Augustulus. Enjoy!

Some interesting suggestions. Thank you.
The Famous Americans one sounds like it would be good on a road trip. I like the idea of the "Open Courses" lectures. Is it on Spotify? I might look and see if there are other lecture series available. Despite Matt Warshauer's best efforts,,, I'm just not into Civil War history.
