I'm currently reading, "Account of Arnold's Campaign Against Quebec, and of the hardships and sufferings of that band of heros who traversed the wilderness of Maine from Cambridge to the St. Lawrence." (Why do so many books from this period have titles as long as some chapters?) By John Joseph Henry, for the third or fourth time.
Are there any equivalent 1st person narratives from the French and Indian War time period that anyone would recommend?

A book from that time period which I have enjoyed over the years and found to be very educational is Scoouwa, by James Smith. I can recommend it without reservation. There are two titles which I assume tell the same tale.
Scoouwa: James Smith's Indian Captivity Narrative, by James Smith
An account of the remarkable occurrences in the life and travels of Colonel James Smith: (late a citizen of Bourbon County, Kentucky) during his captivity ... in the years 1755, '56, '57, '58 & '59, by James Smith
I have Scoouwa, and it continues the narrative for several years after the captivity. I don't know if that is true of the other book, I haven't read it.

James Smith, From here, And here, Wondering if they are the same. I will look into it, thank you.

Found it on Amazon as well as Abe's Books and a couple others. But, also found it for free on archive.org, and it's a clear copy. So I'll be reading the free version after I finish John Joseph Henry's book again, then hopefully at some point buying a copy. Thank you.
