Can anyone please suggest a few books or material on the French and Indian war worth reading?
I find the F&I war and the time preceding it the most interesting and fascinating period of North America during the 18-19th centuries. Two great super powers living side by side, an emerging colonial nation identity developing, large population of native Americans and so much undocumented/contested land.
I have one small book on the time period but would like more.

Not on the war or period in general, but worth reading (although I do sometimes get tired of so much emphasis on Rogers, but then I feel the same about the term Longhunter)

paranger said, "Fred Anderson's Crucible of War is a tome, but universally admired as well."
I have it, it has been 2-3 decades since I read it, but it is excellent. It discusses the F&I war as it relates to the build up to AWI, and presents a big-picture view I haven't seen anywhere else.
