One of the most distinguished biological anthropologists, Matt Cartmill, wrote a book which I enjoyed a lot and can recommend. It's basically a history of hunting and a discussion of its cultural significance through the ages. The book is _A View to a Death in the Morning : Hunting and Nature Through History_ Here's a good discussion of the book from Harvard Press: www.hup.harvard.edu/catalog.php?isbn=9780674937369About the author: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_CartmillSpence
