Is anyone familiar with the art of David Wright? He has long been a favorite of mine when it comes to paintings appropriate to our period. They seem well researched, and he's quite talented. I've collected several of his pieces from the web, and enjoy them for myself, but don't know about posting them, don't want to run afoul of the copyright laws. A sample: Spence

I have never personally came across his paintings other than the web. Completely agreeable on his subject material! A fine artist he his, allot of detail and technique in his paintings.
One thing is for sure, I'd very much like to immerse myself in the above painting.

He has a way of making you feel you are involved, I think. Another, of a longhunter's base camp: Spence

That particular painting is one of my favorites. So much up for interpretation as to the who, what, where and when.

He will be at the annual "History Meets the Arts" show at Lord Nelson's Gallery in Gettysburg, PA April 17-18, along with Griffing, Buxton, and others showcasing their art. If you live within range or happen to be in the area, I recommend it. Let me know if you happen to make it. Beer is on me at the Gary Owen pub.
