Looking for suggestions for some recordings of 18th century music. Preferably fiddle tunes more so than fife and drum stuff. Hoping to be able to find some on my Amazon music app.

Think Townsends might sell period music cd's online. Don't know about music on phones as I have 0% on that subject.

You might also want to check out the hurdy hurdy. Sounds kinda like a mix of a fiddle, a violin and maby some other sound that just happens to be its own unique hurdy gurdy sound :haha: I've known about them for awhile, but here is a recent Townsends video about them and other instruments of the time period. m.youtube.com/watch?v=d6spcN-rPkU

Thanks folks. I should be hanging out on Cape Cod midweek and plan to delve into all these suggestions then with no distractions other than the sound of the surf, and the occasional call from my belly to be replenished with fresh seafood, lol.

Nock, Hope you’re enjoying your vacation and gorging on all of the seafood that I can’t!!! Could not remember the name of this band but finally found them!! They have a song that is very appropriate called, “Cape Cod Girls”. It’s a group called “Jim’s Red Pants” youtu.be/_ELYA083hOU
