I use this knot to secure the cork in my rum bottle which I carry in my pack. Most of this leather tie you see here is securing the leather pouch to the bottle. I did this in case I should fall & break the bottle. Keith.

That's great. I wonder if it might be a good thing to use something like that on the wood plug for a bag used to hold small/bird shot that can be carried in one's Shot Pouch?

I agree, a kneat knot. A couple of hints to anyone using it on a glass bottle. Wax the string with beeswax and it will hold the knot better and hold in place on the slippery bottle better. Leave enough length on the string ends to handle comfortably, the knot needs to be tight in order to work well. When making the first loop around the bottle neck, go through it with the long end twice, not just once. That will make it hold much better, and you can just loosen the part over the cork by pulling it up just a little, then replace and tighten it without the loop around the neck coming untied. Spence
