Happy Thanksgiving all.
As I prepare to go out and bear the 20 degree temps for our traditional annual Thanksgiving day pheasant hunt, I think of all my friends here, scattered across this country, all different climates and types of terrain, and hope you are all well and doing something you enjoy this holiday.

And the same, Dave. I remember many happy days as a young man on the traditional rabbit hunt the men in my family had every Thanksgiving. They are all gone, now, but the memories linger. I join in wishing everyone a happy holiday. Even in these trying time there are many things to be thankful for.

Enjoy all and be blessed as we have much to be thankful for. Unfortunately pouring cat dog outside so no morning hunt for me as planned... However the Mrs. made homemade pecan pie and it became my breakfast in a hurry...

However the Mrs. made homemade pecan pie and it became my breakfast in a hurry... Pie looks excellent. Bet it tastes good with a cup of traditionally roasted coffee..... Mom made two apple pies, a pecan, and a pumpkin yesterday, for this afternoon.

My Wife and I left Pittsburgh October 18th with our oldest daughter, Gabi, on a 5 week tour of the Southwest. Wanted Gabi to see some of the National Parks. Drove 6810 miles, hiked a fair piece, had a great time, got back a few days before Thanksgiving, which we celebrated at my other daughter, Rachel's, house. Believe it or not, I did think of you all while we traveled.
I hope your Thanksgiving was a joy to your hearts. (Hawkeyes, that pie looks mighty good!)

Richard, that brought a rush of memories. My wife and I, our boys 9-14-16 and a friend of the older boy made that tour many years ago. We hauled a two-wheel pop-up tent trailer, a small tent and all the cooking and other gear to be self-sufficient and spent six weeks seeing the northwest. The 9-year-old is now a college professor in Phoenix, and all the boys still talk about that trip. The older boy's friend came to visit us a few weeks ago, after having not seen him for many years, and almost the first thing he talked about was that tour, how much he enjoyed it and how often it comes into his memory.
It's great for the kids, I think.
