What have you guys waxed? Leather, metal parts, wood, thread, the light string wraps where leather and bamboo/wood spout on ball bags, the bamboo spouts themselves as well as bamboo/cane powder measures.

What have you guys waxed? A haversack, leather, gourds, wood, horn... That looks great, Hand. I have my wax heating up now and cut a small sample piece of the linen canvas to give it a try.

I used a baking sheet, foil and the oven set around 200F for the "soak". I think I did several light applications of wax.
The strap was attached afterwards.

Buckles! So… now a belt and the strap for this sack. Still experimenting with the wax. First go was really thick and fairly stiff. I have another method to try.

Still experimenting with the wax. First go was really thick and fairly stiff. I have another method to try. That's why you work it over with the hair dryer - it removes the excess wax and leaves you with a pliable product. Properly done, you'll have stalactites of wax at the bottom that can be harvested and recycled.

I use an iron and newspaper. Sandwich whatever item your wanting to wax as the paper soaks up the residual wax. Brush the wax on and iron away.

I have Scot in my genetics, hence recycling the wax....

Snapsack! I’ll fill in details on the waxing soon. I got swarmed by about 15 bees when working it on the porch. Need to add a strap once I figure out a length. Leather tie attached. [
