Still fewer people in Montana than the city of Denver. My kind of wide open space. Not sure why I didn't stay...

From reading the article, it sounds like the NA's have some justified criticisms, but it seems like the museum is trying to do better now.

If one is trying to do an accurate NA village or even shelter, most of the wikiups/shelters require a lot of continual maintenance, particularly after each winter up there. They would also have to "cart or hand truck" in the things inside the lodges both every morning or evening or the elements would quickly break them down in most period shelters.
What I don't see is recognition that Covid probably screwed them over getting workers/volunteers.

First time I ever went to such a place was up north during our family reunion for whatever reason. I don't gamble, more for the I've done it experience. Anyways, got to talking with a native fella there about people gambling their lives away and what not. Conversation went on and long story short we ended up having relation way back on my great grandmother Birdie "Red" Wolf's side. That was really neat, small world. Still keep in touch every now and then. |
