Are people losing their minds where you are? The panic is worse than the virus...

It certainly seems that way.

I work for the government if some don't know. We got briefed this morning about new info that likely will be released to the public about the virus. I'm not going to post what was passed along but the cause for "caution and basic common sense" should certainly be adhered to. The media is a disaster and should be silenced, but the concern on the government's end is definitely real and they are trying. Thing is at this point, the virus cannot be contained, quarantine measures are a good idea and likely will continue. We already have been briefed if anyone contracts the virus we will be on administrative leave until it passes.
However I personally think 99% of the population is absolutely stupid and ignorant for handling it the way they are.

I work in healthcare and all that has been said here already I agree with.
Wash your hands. A mask should NOT be worn by people who are NOT sick. Chances are it will only increase a healthy person's chances of contracting a virus. SICK PEOPLE moving amongst the population SHOULD WEAR a mask. Wash your hands.
Don't light bottles of Purell on fire and throw them at people.
Wash your hands.
This will run it's course.
WASH YOUR HANDS.

I work for a city/county health dept and people are going crazy. There have been 0 confirmed cases in MT, yet people are behaving like the sky is falling. Some stores are out of toilet paper and Walmart is limiting TP to 1 package per customer...

I'm personally not worried about amenities and the panic... Good thing I can self sustain! Wifey did get sized for protective gear at the hospital. Being an RN they are equipping them, better safe than sorry. She mentioned the large info packet which was handed out did alarm some.
Judging how people are reacting just shows how immature society is as a whole.

There has been some panic buying in supermarkets over here & violence in that regard. One of my sons went to the city yesterday to do some shopping & said that certain items are now restricted because of panic buying. We grow our own food, so not being able to purchase certain items is more of an inconvenience for us rather than an actual problem. Might have to go back to using crumpled newspaper in the toilet though since there has been a rush on toilet rolls!!! Keith.

If you remain calm when everyone around you is in a state of panic...possibly you don't understand the situation. Spence

One can be concerned (even very concerned), yet act calmly and rationally. Panic happens when people forgo reason and act impulsively without thought. An example - 2 women fighting in the store over a package of toilet paper, as was witnessed by our mail guy yesterday. I'll take the former...

Sheep leading the sheep... This situation is the perfect example as to why I choose not to associate with 90% of society.

And 90% of society thanks you. Sorry, Hawkeyes, couldn't resist. It's going to get a lot worse before it gets better, boys. Stay safe. Wash your hands again. Spence
